We are really here, and it is great. How sweet it is to be welcomed into a new culture and community! Today was our first day of work and our team traveled to a school to work on a garden and making baskets for plants. It was amazing the students just sitting and watching us work. It is a very strong language barrier but playing games makes it null. These children are so full of energy and life. I was lucky enough to play "micca" with them which is their version of tag and get chased by fifteen ten year-olds. So much fun! Each member of our team had their own great encounters and games with the children. Also, we played some basketball and soccer with the older kids that attend the school. Their skill in soccer is far better then ours but in basketball we were able to come out ahead! Our team is still forming relationships and becoming one unit but the growth with each other in the past couple days has been exponential. Being outside of your comfort zone allows for such great experiences. Just to be here and actually living what has been planned is more than imaginable.
